Krieger Geriatric Center

Our staff is experienced in working with older adults, and is committed to understanding the patient’s needs. Through a multidisciplinary approach that focuses on those conditions common to seniors, including depression, heart disease, memory loss, high blood pressure and diabetes.

Krieger Center

The Krieger Geriatric Center The Krieger Geriatric Center is an outpatient health clinic and resource center located at Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital in Commerce, Michigan in northwest Oakland County.

If you are 60 or over, the Krieger Geriatric Center can help you maintain good health with up-to-date medical information, preventive care, early diagnosis, and when necessary, medical treatment. Older adults have unique health needs and our geriatric specialist can help you feel your best so you can enjoy life.

Senior Health Line

Additional senior services include registered nurses available by phone, 24-hours a day, to discuss health conditions and possible emergencies, and free counseling regarding access to community services. To access this service call, 1-888-264-0102.

We are a NICHE Facility

Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital is proud to be a NICHE (Nurses Improving Care for Health System Elders) facility. NICHE provides materials and services to improve geriatric care, which in turn leads to greater patient satisfaction.

Enhancing Quality of Life

Dr. Norman N. Krieger Since its inception, Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital has been committed to serving the needs of community members of all ages and recent statistics indicate that the population of older individuals is increasing. Recognizing the community's changing demographics, a new center for older adults has been established at Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital. The Krieger Geriatric Center is named in honor of Norman N. Krieger, M.D., who has been affiliated with the hospital since it’s inception in the 1970’s.

The Carls Foundation provided an endowment in honor of Dr. Krieger to develop new programs to improve the standard of care for adults as they age.

These programs include:

  • An annual physician education program that features renowned speakers in the field of geriatric medicine
  • A resource center
  • A health clinic
