Dr. Stephen DeSilva is Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Wayne State University School of Medicine, and is Orthopaedic Specialist-In-Chief for the Detroit Medical Center.

A board-certified orthopaedic surgeon with special qualification in hand surgery, Dr. DeSilva has practiced in the Detroit Area since 1989. His major areas of interest include: hand surgery, wrist and elbow reconstruction, and microvascular surgery (including limb replantation).

Dr. DeSilva is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He completed his orthopaedic residency at the Mayo Clinic, and his hand fellowship at Union Memorial Hospital, Curtis Hand Center, Baltimore.

Dr. DeSilva is listed in The Best Doctors in AmericaTM: 2002 Edition.
