Compliance
Compliance provides guidelines on ethical standards for administrative officers, faculty, and staff at the Detroit Medical Center. With HIPPA Standards, as well as the JACHO and ISO, CAC seeks to ensure compliance specific policies and procedures of the Detroit Medical Center. Members of the Medical Center community, including physicians, billing representatives, and independent contractors must abide by the laws and regulations governing financial and billing transactions. These regulations include specific admonitions regarding billing and claims, offering or receiving kickbacks, conflicts of interest, making inappropriate patient referrals, negatively impacting the environment, and unfairly influencing market competition.
